Dr Keneilwe Mooketsane contributed to an important discussion on gender and the 2024 elections in South Africa. 

About Dr Mooketsane

Dr Keneilwe Sadie Mooketsane is a Senior Lecturer in the Political and Administrative Studies Department at the University of Botswana where she teaches Public Administration and Public Policy.

She is a gender and governance expert with over ten years of experience in research, teaching and consultancy work. She holds a PhD in Public and Development Management from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits School of Governance) and a Master of Philosophy in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Cape Town.

Dr Mooketsane has worked with different research teams and networks including, the Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis, The Democracy Research Project and the Afrobarometer. She has keen interest in Feminist Research, Democratic Governance, State Society relations among other areas. Her most recent area of focus has been on the use of women’s personal stories to empower women and advance gender equality.
