Forty-nine white South African Afrikaners arrived in the United States of America to be granted refugee status, claiming racial discrimination as the basis for their application. US President Donald Trump has expedited their case, asserting that Afrikaner minorities are being targeted and persecuted in South Africa. The South African government denies these claims, saying the group isn't facing such persecution. Dr Thelela Ngcetane-Vika offered her expertise to the SABC on this subject.
