Calls for criminal accountability in Deokaran’s case

Adjunct Professor Alex van den Heever has raised concerns about the thoroughness of the investigation into Babita Deokaran’s murder. He was speaking to a Newzroom Afrika journalist, Naledi Moleo.

Deokaran was killed in outside her south Johannesburg home in August 2021 and worked at the Gauteng Department of Health.
